Ana Karylle Padilla Tatlonghari-Yuzon, more commonly known by her screen name Karylle, is a thirty three year old Filipino singer, song writer, TV host, actress, entrepreneur, writer and blogger. As an actress, she is best known for her roles in Encantadia, Dalaw, Moments of Love, and Dahil May Isang Ikaw. She can also be seen regularly on a local noontime musical variety show known as It's Showtime.
Karylle was born on the 22nd of March 1981 in Manila to Dr. Modesto Tatlonghari, a dentist, and Zsa Zsa Padilla, also a singer and actress in the Philippines. She was raised by her father after her parents had separated. She has two sisters, Zia and Nicole Quizon, from her mom's relationship with Rodolfo Vera Quizon, or better known by his stage mononym Dolphy, the country's "comedy king".
Karylle completed her elementary education at O.B. Montessori where she was class valedictorian. She attended Saint Pedro Poveda College in Quezon City where she graduated high school with a service medal for her extra-curricular and volunteer work. In 2002, she graduated from Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU), making the Dean's List, with a degree in BS Management Communications. It was her conscious decision to finish school before fully focusing on her career in the entertainment industry. Karylle is a part-owner of several businesses, including KTV/resto-bars Jupiter (in Makati City and MOA) and Centerstage (at Tomas Morato, Quezon City), as well as restaurant Mey Lin. On March 21, 2014, she married her boyfriend of four years, Yael Yuzon, frontman of Filipino rock band Sponge Cola.
